Jacaranda Partners recently undertook some community work on repairing the Datchworth Scout Hut.
The wooden building was in need of external restoration. The front and side of the hut and the storage shed were sanded down and the old flaking paint removed. Rotten wood was replaced, it was then painted with two coats of barn exterior paint. The storage shed was re-roofed with new felt.
All the exterior windows and doors were sanded down and painted with undercoat and an exterior topcoat. The garden was very overgrown, shrubs were pruned back, bramble cleared and the grass mowed. All garden waste and rubbish were removed from site.
The materials were provided by the Scout Group and all labour was done free of charge.
